The foreshadowing was good and all the clues made sense, when the pieces fell into place. I picked up this book not knowing it was the second of a series, (but if you’re thinking of reading this you don’t have to have read the first one, the book does a good job of catching you up) So firstly, starting at the end, the major plot twist. If you choose truth (or don’t respond), one of your secrets is revealed. Now an anonymous person is sending Truth or Dare messages to the students of Bayview High, and this time no one is safe.
“Last year in a San Diego suburb, a gossip app led to a death and inspired weak copycats. Although I haven’t read as many teenage or YA thrillers as I would like, this book was good, world building escapism with plot twists, secrets being revealed and dangerous games played. This book might be a strange book to choose, but in reality, although I enjoyed it I wasn’t motivated to read the first book in the series (One of us is lying) I have read a few others in the whole series, including You’ll be The Death of Me and Two Can Keep a Secret, but I didn’t think either were as good – and if anyone were to ask for a recommendation from the series, this would definitely be my choice. McManus, and I read it and re-read it a couple of months ago.
